      <Abstract>In this paper, we proposed Laguerre wavelet based Galerkin method for the numerical solution of elliptic problems.  Here, we obtain numerical solutions of elliptic problems using modified Laguerre wavelets with respect to the given boundary conditions by Galerkin method. The numerical results obtained by this method are compared with the exact solution and solutions of other existing method.  Some of the test problems are considered to demonstrate the applicability and validity of the proposed method.</Abstract>
