      <Abstract>Much of ill health that affects humanity, especially in the developing countries can be traced to lack of safe and wholesome water therefore groundwater samples were collected from six hand pumps of primary school of Atarra tehsil and analysed for its drinking water quality. Laboratory tests were performed for the analysis of pH, Hardness, Chloride, Alkalinity, TDS etc. On comparing the results against drinking water quality standards laid by World Health Organization (WHO), it was found that some of the water samples are non-potable for human.
