Life Satisfaction and Stress Tolerance among

Recruit Women Police Constables with respect to Personality Pattern

Abstract:

In every community, laws exist to control the society. Laws are important because they keep a society together for functioning. Laws exist to protect people from each other and from themselves as well as to protect the government from harm, to promote certain values and to provide goods and services. Within society, it is usually the police who ensure these laws. The present study mainly focuses on the personality pattern, stress tolerance and life satisfaction among recruit women police constables. The samples consist of 139 recruit women police constables and were selected using stratified sampling technique. The tools used for data collection are Type A/B Behavioural Pattern Scale developed by Dhair and Jain (2001), Stress Tolerance Scale developed by Reshmy and Sananda Raj(1999) and Life Satisfaction Scale developed by Singh and Joseph (1971). The obtained data were subjected to statistical analysis using SPSS. 't'- test and Pearson correlation analysis were the main statistical analysis employed.
