Category: Engineering, Science and Mathematics
Abstract:
Hybrid Energy Storage Systems (HESS) combining Fuel Cells (FCs), Photovoltaic (PV) Cells, and Supercapacitors (SCs) present a promising solution for enhancing renewable energy integration and grid stability. This study explores the integration of FCs, PV cells, and SCs in a simulation framework to evaluate their combined performance as an effective energy storage solution. Fuel cells offer high energy density and long operational life, making them suitable for providing steady power in HESS. PV cells, leveraging solar energy, contribute to decentralized energy production and storage, enhancing system resilience. Supercapacitors, known for their rapid charge-discharge capabilities, complement batteries by mitigating power fluctuations and improving overall system efficiency. The simulation focuses on optimizing the sizing, operation strategies, and control mechanisms of FCs, PV cells, and SCs within HESS
